Training and Qualifications
Paula discovered complementary therapies whilst working in South Korea, where she attended a daily yoga and martial arts group. Having always looked to ‘caring professions’ for a career and personally feeling the benefit to be gained from these therapies, acupuncture in particular she knew she had found her vocation.
Upon returning to the UK she gained certificates in Swedish Body Massage, Level 3 and Indian Head Massage, Level 3 and was attuned to Reiki level 2, before beginning a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) at the University of Salford.
Paula also travelled to the Peoples Republic of China , where she completed the “Beijing International Acupuncture Training Course” at the renowned Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With subsequent courses on Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture and a Specialised Weight Management courses she continues to refine and expand her knowledge and understanding of the Human Body and its route to health.
Special Interests
As a therapist Paula has a particular interest in pain management & physical rehabilitation along with the treatment of depression and other emotional disorders and in assisting with adverse effects of medications such as HAART (HIV) and chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Most recently, Paula has been working with individuals with paralysis from various causes and found this challenge very rewarding.
